Songs
To keep it simple, I have chosen to use a Mixolydian or 1-5-8 tuning, such as DAd, GDg, AEa etc. As long as you are using a similar tuning you can play these songs.
I have added a brief explanation of why I use Mixolydian below, if you just want to play a song you do not NEED to read the paragraphs below.
The only difference is you will play it in a different note. For example if you are tuned to AEa you will be playing the song in the key of A, GDg you will be playing in the key of G, etc. There are MANY MANY ways to tune and play your CBDulcitar, and you could spend a lifetime learning it all. There is no right or wrong tuning or mode, which ever one you like best is the best for you.
The reason I am not specifying a specific tuning is simple. Each CBDulcitar has it's own character. One may sound better tuned to a different key. Some people may like a different key than another. For multiple reasons (scale length, string sizes, etc.) you may not be able to tune your CBDulcitar to a certain key without the strings being too loose or too tight.
